LOS ANGELES – A sheriff's official says Mel Gibson has met with detectives to discuss his claims that his ex-girlfriend attempted to extort money from him.

Stephen Jaffe,Miss Sixty, a spokesman for Grigorieva, declined comment on the meeting. The 40-year-old Russian singer denied the extortion allegations to celebrity photographers in video shot Friday.

Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says the interview occurred Sunday. He says detectives only spoke to the Academy Award-winner about his claims against ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva (gree-GOR'-yeh-vuh).

Neither has been arrested and no charges have been filed.

Gibson's interview was first reported Tuesday by celebrity website TMZ.com.
